This is the first in the series "Men who Made America." It is the figure of a gold miner with his pick and shovel, panning for gold.

Sebastian Miniatures was started in Massachusetts in 1945, by Prescott W. Baston. Their hand-cast and hand-painted pieces are prized by Sebastian Miniature collectors.

Dates/Marks: #SML-392 - Production of 6,018. Introduced in 1981/Retired in 1988. Side of base reads, "copr 1981 P.W. Baston Jr."

It appears that the artist has put his initials on the bottom in pencil

The brim of the hat has a tiny piece of paint or plaster missing that you can see in the photo

A small amount of paint is missing on the shovel that you also can see in the photo
